The Williams County Board of Developmental Disabilities is determined to ensure the availability of programs, services, and supports that assist individuals with developmental disabilities, of all ages, and their families, in choosing and achieving a life of increasing capability such that they can live, play, and work in the community.
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Children’s Services, the Special Olympics Assistant is responsible for assisting with the Williams County Special Olympics program and Youth Recreation Events. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Works with individuals that qualify for Special Olympics in sports training and competition settings;
- Travels with teams/athletes and may transport teams to games, as needed;
- Assists Special Olympics Coordinator with recruiting and signing up new athletes;
- Assist Special Olympics Coordinator at various training sites and fundraising events, as needed;
- Recruits and maintains a volunteer base to help run activities.
This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position, working 10-20 hours per week, 12 months per year. Benefits include membership into Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS); paid leave and holidays; and, flexible schedule including the opportunity for telework.
