Dad, Son Missing While Fishing In Southeastern Michigan

SOUTH ROCKWOOD, Mich. (AP) — Authorities searched Monday for a man and his son who disappeared while fishing in the Huron River in southeastern Michigan.

Justin Oaks and his 6-year-old son, Jaxon, were in a 14-foot aluminum boat Sunday between Lake Erie and an Interstate 75 overpass in the South Rockwood area, state police said.

Justin Oaks’ last contact with someone was by phone around 12:30 p.m.

“Justin and Jaxon did not return to their vehicle, which was found parked at the Downriver Marina boat launch with an empty boat trailer attached to it,” police said.

Divers were summoned to the water.
