Dale McQuillin (1939-2021)


Dale L. McQuillin, age 81, of Delta, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, April 29, 2021 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born in Delta, Ohio on July 15, 1939 to the late Clarence and Dessie Mae (Smallman) McQuillin. He would marry Jane Grove in Swanton, on December 18, 1959 and together they raised three children. Dale was a fixture in Delta, working as a mechanic for the West End Garage for many years.

Dale had a passion for motorcycles and would attend the National Motorcycle Swap Meet every July held in Wauseon. He was also a member of the Delta Fire Department for 25 years and was well known for frequently visiting with his friends at the Barn Restaurant. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jane; children, Randy (Julia) McQuillin; Dawn (James) Criswell; Kenton (Kori) McQuillin; brothers, Ramon McQuillin; Mark (Kathy) McQuillin; Don McQuillin; sisters, Marcia Miller; Clarice McQuillin and Alice Mae Abbott; grandchildren, Josh McDowell; Katie Ecker; Logan and Mason McQuillin.

He was preceded in death by his brother Rodger McQuillin.

Friends will be received at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, May 3, 2021 where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM with Pastor Maryann Reimund officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, those attending are asked to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a facial mask, observe six-foot distancing when possible and please make your visit brief to allow all who desire to attend visitation the ability to do so.

Those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Fulton County Humane Society, 14720 Co. Rd. J, Wauseon, Ohio 43567 in his name.
