Fulton County Jury Finds Metamora Man Guilty Of Domestic Violence



(PRESS RELEASE) – On March 26, 2024, a Fulton County Common Pleas Court jury found James Pontious, age 40, of Metamora, OH, guilty of Domestic Violence, a felony of the fourth degree.

A Fulton County Grand Jury had previously indicted Mr. Pontious for the December 5, 2023, offense when he did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to a family or household member.

The case was prosecuted by Fulton County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Stacey S. Stiriz, and Mr. James Pontious was represented by Wauseon attorney, Nathan VanDenBerghe.

Mr. Pontious’ bond was continued, and a pre-sentence investigation and report was ordered by the Court. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

This charge was the result of an investigation conducted by the Fulton Co. Sheriff’s Office.
