Ohio Releases List Of 183,000 Cancelled Voter Registrations

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s elections chief is urging voters to see if they’re among almost 183,000 registrations canceled as part of the state’s voter rolls maintenance.

Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose said the process is incomplete, but he released the searchable list Friday so that affected voters still have time to register by the Oct. 7 deadline.

LaRose said he’ll also provide the list to voting-rights organizations, unions, political parties and other participants in his Registration Restart initiative to help get the word out.

Friday’s figure doesn’t include names from Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh), Lucas and Summit counties, where municipal elections Sept. 10 delayed completion until next week. Tuscarawas (tuhs-kuh-RAW’-uhs) and Portage counties also weren’t ready.

Under a court settlement, voters living within the same county can vote provisionally despite a cancellation.
