Robert “Bob” Mansfield (1951-2022)


Robert V. “Bob” Mansfield age 71, of Wauseon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Defiance CHP Inpatient Hospice.

Bob was born in Wauseon, OH on July 28, 1951 to Edward and Marlene (Sower) Mansfield.

On September 25, 1971 he married Kathleen “Kathy” (Short) and she survives. Bob was a hard worker his entire life.

He worked in Maintenance at Sauder Woodworking for 20 years, and retired in 2018.

Bob loved being with his family and also attending his grandsons’ activities.

He also enjoyed working in his workshop, and spent many hours creating, designing, and building woodworking projects.

Bob was a kind and generous man who lived out his faith in his everyday life. He attended West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville.

Surviving besides his wife, Kathy; is his son, Jason, daughter-in-law Ellen, and grandsons Elijah, Gavin & Carter.

He is also survived by his brothers, William (Connie) Mansfield & Richard (Angela) Mansfield of Toledo; brother, Michael (Shelley) Mansfield of Napoleon; sisters, Mary Mansfield & Alice (Jon) Keller of Bryan.  Brothers-in-law, Ronald (Mary) Short, Denver (Katherine) Short, & Stanwyn (Suzanne) Short of Archbold, and Leonard (Jennifer) Short of Cincinnati; sisters-in-law, Joanne Ocasio of Lancaster, PA, Lavonne (Darrell) Short of Goshen, IN, and Janet (Kevin) Knierim of Wauseon.  Bob also had many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James Mansfield.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, November 16 at 10:30 AM; and visitation will be Tuesday, November 15 from 3:00-7:00 PM. Visitation & Funeral will be at West Clinton Mennonite Church, on the corner of County Road C & County Road 18, Wauseon.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
