Position Overview: 

You must be willing to be well rounded and knowledgeable in all aspects of child welfare as well as having the ability to adapt to changing responsibilities. You will be expected to collaborate with outside agencies and be a part of building strong positive relationships with our community partners. You should have experience with or be able to oversee the daily operations of child welfare programs, provide direct supervision of assigned staff, stay up to date on current rules and policies, and have the ability to think in a critical manner during stressful situations. You must be able to assess safety, draw valid conclusions, have strong written and verbal communication skills, be skillful in problem solving, and be able to develop and present new ideas to unique issues as they arise. You must be able to ensure child safety, permanency, and well-being; be able to take ownership of your work; be organized, have the ability to meet multiple deadlines; and be able to address secondary trauma issues. You must be available to staff after hours in addition to regular on-call duties. Weekends and evenings are a must.

 Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, or related field plus a minimum of two years’ experience as Social Services Worker 2 and/or 3. Forensic Interviewing, Adoption Assessor training, and a Master’s Degree are preferred, and licensure is recommended. You must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and reference check. You must have a clean driving record and a valid Driver’s License.
